Hello, my name is Ali Carr.

I'm an outdoor gear expert, adventure travel writer, and television personality. My writing has appeared in national publications such as Outside magazine, Men's Journal, ESPN.com, Sunset, Gear Patrol, Travel + Leisure, REI.com and more. I was an editor at Outside for six years and worked as a digital media editor at Travel + Leisure and Food & Wine before anyone knew what a blog was. Most recently, I was a travel editor at Microsoft, helping them launch an in-house editorial app. You can spot me talking gear trends and travel frontiers on Travel Channel, Outside Online and Outside Television. 

I am currently based in New York's gorgeous Hudson Valley, an hour-and-a-half outside of NYC, where I live with my two small daughters and our adventure-loving pups. 

I've covered numerous sporting events such as the X Games, the Burton U.S. Open, the Association of Surfing Professional's Hurley Pro, the Nike for Women marathon and I've interviewed celebrities, athletes, filmmakers, and scientists. My work has taken me everywhere from the top of Wyoming's Grand Teton to the bottom of Chile's Patagonia region. Welcome to my adventure journal.
